Ideal for a romantic break, our gorgeous, secluded cottage is set in beautiful countryside yet it's close to Kirkmichael with its excellent pub, shop and café. Sleeps 2 in king size bed (travel cot and very comfortable chair bed are also available). The cottage is spacious and is heated by an environmentally-friendly biomass boiler which radiates a cheery glow, there's a well-equipped kitchen and a sunny garden with furniture to enjoy al fresco meals. Watch the sun slowly set with a glass of wine in the evening is the perfect way to relax. WiFi is available at no extra cost and we have Freesat TV.

Within a short drive are some excellent golf courses, signposted walks, great road cycling on quiet roads, mountain biking along forest tracks, horse-riding along the beach at Maidens or along the Doon at Craigengillan, fishing for trout and salmon on the River Girvan, for trout in fisheries or sea fishing from Girvan and Ayr. 

Cultural highlights include Rozelle Art Gallery in Ayr, Robert Burns Birthplace Museum and Cottage in nearby Alloway, Robert the Bruce Heritage Trail, Scottish Industrial Railway Centre with steam trains during the summer at Dunaskin by Waterside, architect Robert Adam's first commission of Dumfries House and his final triumph – Culzean Castle. The Galloway Forest Park with waterfalls, walks, picnic spots and fishing is only a few miles away The Dark Sky Park with a publicly accessible Observatory at Caigengillan is situated just south of Dalmellington and is home to some of the darkest skies in Europe. Further along the road is Loch Doon with its ruined castle, some excellent walks and scenic forest drive.

The cottage has binoculars to view the stars and abundant wildlife (deer, buzzards, hares, badgers), lots of information on local attractions, star charts, books on flora and fauna, plus a selection of games and DVDs.
